RDS BlackQube

The RDS BlackQube was launched by Rolec Ltd at the Sound Broacast Equipment Show in Birmingham, England in November 94. This is a remarkable fully featured stereo tuner with complete RDS features/10 watts per channel amplifier/5 loudspeaker combination in a fully damped MDF enclosure with IR remote control designed for professional users. Quite apart from all the usual RDS features, the BlackQube offers scroll tuning by station name, search tuning by PTY and automatic display of Radio Text. The novel EON implementation allows the user to select which of the many local stations in the receiption area are "allowed" to interrupt the tuned frequency with travel information. CT is fully used to synchronise alarms which allow weekend disable and there is even a control output for switching other equipment.
