In a July 2026 Radio World interview, RDS Forum CEO Dietmar Kopitz noted that hurried FM switch-offs - such as in Switzerland - led to massive listener losses for public broadcasters. He highlighted that Switzerland reversed course to bring public and commercial FM back from 2027 through at least 2034.
